Iphone Firmware v1.0.2 Serial Port Tutorial By Collin Meyer (TheRain) 12-09-2007
PLEASE NOTE: It was recently brought to my attention that this trick is not necessary for Iphones with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 firmwares. If you are using these firmwares, you can ignore any references to the hardware trick described here. The serial port source code still works with these firmwares, sans the hardware trick details. Also, all of the general reference information here is still accurate."

RF Tracking vs. GPS Tracking
RF Tracking vs. GPS Tracking: "If, however, you want to recover stolen vehicles, RF tracking is the technology of choice. The reasons for this are many. Generally, only a very limited number of vehicles will be tracked at one time so tracking capacity is not an issue. Because the device remains in standby mode until the vehicle is stolen, both VectorTrac and LoJack can support virtually an unlimited number of vehicles. The RF tracking device is relatively inexpensive and easy to install, thus allowing widespread implementation and greater market penetration than would ever be possible with a more expensive GPS based system"
