Motorola to Acquire Sendo R&D Team and IP Portfolio | Wireless News - Wireless IQ: "Motorola to Acquire Sendo R&D Team and IP Portfoli"

Many people say that this year is a year for mobile phone manufacturers to re-shuffule. We heard quiet many news about this lately. From end of last year, there were mergers between TCL and Alcatel. Unfortunatelly, Alcatel announced to shut off their mobile phone business and sold out all their shares to TCL early this year. We also noticed that Moto has acquired Korean's mobile phone mfg Pantec & Quiritel. Israli mobile phone mfg Emblaze had acquired Innostream, another Korean mfg.

This year just happened was the merger between Benq & Siemens, later has been in the phone business for many years and once had gained 17% market share. We also heard that Soustec in China has gone bankcrupt.

Today is another blow that Moto bought off Sendo R&D team.

So.. it seems mid size or even small size mobile phone manufacturers are having really tough year now.
